Happiness

Happiness is a feather

Blown in Summer air

It swirls and lands

Soft in my hand

But soon it goes somewhere

Happiness is a boat

Bobbing in the tide

It anchors in new harbors

But on waves

Its banner flies

Happiness is a flower

Blooming in the Spring

It’s nurtured deep

But Winter’s sleep

Chokes all that Spring breathes

Happiness stops in sometimes

To rest its weary head

Huddled close

Until night’s ghost

Leaves me an empty bed

No, Happiness never stays for long

Still, I’m bound in its hold

Waiting for a breeze, the tide,

A flower to end

This cold
